This recent campaign for Specialized was an absolute dream. Our team loaded up and traveled to a remote mountain cabin just outside of the small town of Navis; an idyllic mountain village in the heart of the Austrian Alps. This team, led by gnarly director Lindsey Hagen and award-winning DP Harrison Mendel, navigated language barriers, remote locations, and the endless uphill schlep and walked away with some of our most gorgeous footage to date.
At gnarly bay, we feel strongly that E-bikes catch a lot of unnecessary shade from the cycling community. They are powerful tools that make it possible for more people to experience the beauty of this sport… How could anyone hate that? As such, our goal was to highlight an endearing bond between mother and daughter forged through the wonders of Specialized’s rebuilt Kids Levo SL.

MEET THE DIRECTOR
Lindsey guided our efforts in this 360 campaign for the 2023 Specialized LEVO launch. As a director, her keen story sense and ability to pull intimacy and richer moments out of all commercial formats made her the perfect fit for this spot - a coming-of-age story about a young girl in Austria who grows up in a bike-centric household. The narrative traces her evolution from the days of training wheels to full-enduro pump tracks. As she does so well, Lindsey leaves us with an enduring belief in the power of bikes to change lives.
